Step2′s Water Rush Quarry is a multi-level design that allows water to cascade from the top of the Water Rush Quarry to the bottom like a flowing river. The Water Rush Quarry features the following:

  • Two sand play areas – a small area on the top level and a large on the bottom level
  • Can be converted into a smaller, single level play table
  • Working crane for interactive play
  • Toy car track with tunnel and ramp
  • 10-piece accessory set including one crane, two bridges, tunnel, dam, ramp, bucket, shovel and two construction vehicles
  • Durable poly construction

Water Rush Quarry is made in the USA with US-made and some imported parts. Minimal adult assembly is required.

The Water Rush Quarry does require a little bit of set-up, but nothing that an experienced parent can’t handle! Then add sand and water and you’ve got all of the makings of a wet, messy, fun day! On the downside, some of our parents noted that their little ones had a little bit of trouble getting the cars to ride down the ramp properly (kept getting stuck), and some of the pieces kept coming apart. Yes, the kids took to this table immediately and the fun began in a flash – but there was some frustration when some of the pieces didn’t work properly or stay put.

The high quality plastic will wash down easy enough, but some of our parents weren’t 100% sold on “Durability”. Some of the pieces pop off a bit too easily, and some of the working parts don’t quite work as well as the kids would have wanted. There’s no major durability issues, but it wasn’t made well enough to earn all five stars.

One look was all it took – and the Water Rush Quarry was overwhelmed with little hands and smiley faces! This is one toy that just looks like fun – and our kids couldn’t wait to dig in and splash around! Well done!

With the combination of water, sand, tunnels, and slides there certainly is plenty of fun to be had by little ones. Our parents noted that the first round of play was all about exploring the different parts and components. But on the second round imagination took over and the kids had a blast!

Ask a parent in the know, and you’ll quickly find out that a water table isn’t exactly inexpensive. Neither is a sandbox. So the combination of both generated some blind guesses in the price range of $75 to $100. With a suggested retail price of just under $90 the Water Rush Quarry does seem to be right in the proper range. It still is a bit expensive, but well priced.

Water tables aren’t exactly original. Neither are sand tables. And neither are combination tables. But you can tell that Step2 worked hard to create a unique, fun table here with a design that includes a tunnel and a slide. Bright colors, cool components and a lot of fun that scored pretty well on our Originality scores!

The Water Rush Quarry takes some of the things that kids love most – water, sand and toys, and puts them all together for a super-fun, super cool combination table. The kids quickly fell in love with this awesome table, and even when the pieces popped off they didn’t seem fazed at all – they kept right on splashing and laughing!
