Open the Story Reader, put your selected cartridge in, place the book into the slots and let the story begins! Yes – it really is that easy. As the narrator reads your child follows along, turns the pages when prompted and the narrator keeps right on going. There is no question, the technology is really cool – and you’ll be amazed at how quickly your child picks up how the Story Reader works. And to our review team that meant one thing – little hands all over the cartridges and books. And…that is what actually caused our parents to reexamine the Story Reader for “Ease of Use”. The cartridge goes in easy enough and the pages turn well, but in some cases our review team found little hands pulling the books out of the slot and had a bit of difficulty putting in back in place. For older kids and parents there were no problems – but our team is tough. Yet, even with a book occasionally popping out, our team couldn’t award anything but five stars here – a book that reads to your kids?! It doesn’t get any easier than that!

The Story Reader is a piece of high-tech electronics – did we mention it reads to your kids for you!? And with that – our team was on the lookout for durability issues. The only one that came back was not with the reader itself, but actually with the books. The spiral bind that is crucial to hold them in the Story Reader can cause issue for readers that aren’t exactly delicate with their books. If your kids handle books well – no problem, but if your children are a little more rough on books you may want to supervise!

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! The Story Reader itself is bright and colorful – and the stories feature the characters your kids love most. If our team could have awarded 6 stars here they would have!

Our review team wanted to make sure we stressed the following statement at this point – Story Reader reads to your kids! And it needs their interaction to keep the stories going. With more than 60 titles available your little reader shouldn’t run out of books anytime soon. Our team couldn’t possibly ask for more functionality!

In a blind survey our parents placed the Story Reader base unit right around $30. With an actual retail price of just $19.99 the team was blown away. Now…the books themselves can get a little more expensive – with three packs priced at $19.99 as well. There are special larger packages of books for different prices to make them more affordable, but beware – to truly take advantage of the Story Reader you’ll have to buy more books for your children as you go. With that in mind our team awarded a hopeful four stars.

The Story Reader is an absolute original! The fun, bright colors, the best characters and titles all come together to create a one-of-a-kind toy that the kids and parents on our review team just loved! There’s nothing else quite like it out there!

If ever a product was destined for five stars it was this one. It really works – it really reads to your kids and involves them in the fun. It’s definitely durable considering they mixed electronics with books. But most important of all, our kids just loved it. From Cars to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Dora, Barney, Spongebob and Nemo – all of their fun favorites are waiting! Our team loves the Story Reader!
