Pop open this little laptop and your children will no exactly what to do – hit the buttons! In all seriousness, some of our younger kids needed some assistance and guidance getting into the flow of the fun. All were happy to have a laptop-like toy to play with, but some of the older children would have preferred to try our laptops! Parents help is definitely a plus until children get a little older and can manipulate the activities. And if you intend to load spelling lists or math problems, you’ll be doing that – not your kids!

This is a laptop designed for little hands. Solid plastic construction works to eliminate the concern for breakage, but we’ve seen too may toys like this break down over time to give a full five stars. Instead, we’re more comfortable offering four for this reason – we didn’t see any faults, but just seeing how some of the younger kids handled the laptop was cause for concern. If you have the kind of child that breaks a lot of toys, you may want to get them a little older before purchasing, if your child cares for their toys well then there should be little concern.

Great visual appeal! Don’t know if it is the bright colors or the opportunity to actually touch a keyboard, but all of our little ones were drawn to this laptop immediately. It just looks fun!

There is a lot of functionality packed into this little laptop. Chances are you’ll need to work with your kids to get through it at first – but there is plenty going on. One concern that did keep coming up was the size of the LCD screen. It is small. The kids didn’t seem to mind, but some of our Moms and Dads were concerned it was too tiny and wouldn’t hold their children’s attention for too long.

On a blind guess most of our parents were about $5 to $10 below the actual retail price of $34.95. This laptop does offer a lot of function, but some parents felt that function would be lost on their younger children and weren’t worth paying for. On the other hand, for parents of children that were a little older (5+) they were excited about the functions and features, and thought they were definitely worth the added cost – especially the ability to load in kid’s own lists for spelling!

There are a number of laptop toys for children on the market today – so this can’t be classified as a true original, but there definitely are some cool features here that are not that common. Like we’ve mentioned a few times, our parents were especially impressed with being to add their child’s specific spelling lists – a great new way to get them to study!!!

Our children really did seem to enjoy playing with the JumpStart World Tag Along Laptop. Our youngest reviewers did lose interest quickly. However, kids that really understood and got into the activities were able to play for extended periods of time. The JumpStart World Tag Along Laptop is a fun toy for kids to play with that adds that extra element of learning. Nice!
