SUMMARY

DuneCraft's Plants that Work - Sweet Leaf includes a terrarium, Sweet Leaf (Stevia rebaudiana) seed pack, plant stake, natural gravel, planting mixture, and a planting and care information guide.  Kids have the opportunity to place soil and adjust seeds to have the chance to grow the Stevia plant.  Once grown, the plant itself is intended to be used as a natural sugar substitute.

Per information found on the Plants that Work box, Stevia has proven to be an exceptional aid in weight management, improve digestion, soothe upset stomachs and speed up recoveries from minor illnesses.

INDIVIDUAL CATEGORY RATINGS

EASE OF USE
In theory, DuneCraft's Plants that Work planters should be easy enough to use.  The only difficulty that our review team found was that in the directions and the pieces included in the kit.  The directions themselves weren't extremely difficult to understand, just a little hard to follow.  And parental supervision is definitely recommended.  There was some confusion with the soil that was included - as there was more than twice as much as needed in the box - but at least there was more than enough and not too little.
DURABILITY
As the team went through the steps of putting together the kit they found no reason to think this kit wouldn't last and last.  That's five stars for sure!
VISUAL APPEAL
Top notch here for sure!  All of the kids on the review team were drawn to this kit - the thought of planting their own plants was more than enough to get the excitement going.  The excitement got to a whole new level when the kids found out that they could actually use the Sweet Leaf once it has grown!
FUNCTIONALITY
You mean first you get to grow the plants - then you get to eat/use them!  It doesn't get more functional than that!
COST EFFICIENCY
Our parents estimated the Plants that Work Kit to be priced right around $20.  With a retail price of under $15 they were thrilled with the price point.  It's refreshing to see a product not just priced well, but priced less than expected!  Nice!

ORIGINALITY

Our parents and our kids have had a chance to check out a planting kit before - but none that they'd be able to eat!  To our review team - that has the makings of an all-original product!
OVERALL RATING
Overall the parents and the kids on the review team loved the Plants that Work kit.  None had ever had a chance to grow a plant and then eat it - so that scored major points.  The kit was priced better than could be expected and packed in all sorts of function.  Plus it's just fun to get your hands dirty every now and again!  The directions could have been a little more clear, but if you can look past that we're talking five stars for sure!
