Challenge your child’s imagination with the 4M Tin Can Robot. Perfect for any young scientist, this fun robotics kit teaches the value of recycling by re-purposing a used soda can into a moving, functional robot. The included supplies allow adults and kids to build a motorized monster, silly robot, or any combination of the two. Not only does it foster creativity, it’s an excellent opportunity to show kids how toys are assembled and function.
Here’s the thing….our kids immediately gravitated towards this adorable robot kit. However – assembling was not easy. The directions are advanced for younger children, and the screws are tiny. Beware, this is not one of those toys you are just going to give to your 9 year old and say “have fun”. Parents will definitely need to be involved in assemly.
4M’s Tin Can Robot is a bit delicate. If your children are a bit rough on their toys still, this is not for them.
Now we’re back on track! The Tin Can Robot is super cool looking! It’s silly and fun, and our kids couldn’t wait to get their hands on it.
From a functionality perspective, we feel pretty good about the robot. First you have to put it together, and that is going to take more time than you expect. Then, your little engineer is going to love sharing and showing off the creation. The robot works when assembled correctly – and we dig that!
At a retail price point of $14.99 we are more than comfortable recommending this as a purchase.
4M’s Tin Can Robot is definitely an original. We’ve seen other robot kits, but this puts a unique and fun spin on it!
Overall we think you’ll be pleased with the Tin Can Robot, however, just go into it knowing this will take some adult supervision to assemble. If you don’t mind working with your kids on a project, and working with tiny screws that like to roll everywhere, this is a great choice!
