iLearn with Poko is an app designed specifically for kids ages 3 and 7 – and with that in mind you can tell the designers worked hard to keep the app easy to use. For the most part, all of the kids we worked with were able navigate the app and execute the math equations. Children on the younger side of the spectrum did need some supervision and help with navigating and actually working the math problems.
As with all apps, no durability issues here. We love that if a child “accidentally” deletes an app, you can just go in and reload it.
iLearn with Poko is adorable! The designers clearly had an artistic vision – and it was definitely executed well. Bright colors, adorable characters and interesting game play will certainly attract your little ones, and keep them happily playing!
There are so many apps out there, and we have found that it is becoming more and more difficult for apps to score well in this category. Not because there aren’t multiple levels or interesting interaction, just because there are apps out there that are so deep, so involved, that even younger children are expecting more and more in their app play.
How do we only award 4 stars for a product that costs less than $3? Well, when we’re talking apps so may are priced at just $.99 – and when an app is priced 3 times as much – it needs to blow us away. Not that we didn’t enjoy iLearn with Poko, just when comparing the price vs. other apps it needed a bit more.
We love that we are starting to see more and more apps for kids, especially designed for learning – so we can’t say it is a brand new concept. On the plus side, iLearn with Poko has created an original game that offers kids a fun, intersting take on learning math.
When you are tired of your kids playing with Angry Birds on your iPad and you want them to actually take some time to learn something other than smashing pigs, iLearn with Poko is a nice alternative! The graphics are great and the price is right. Younger kids will need some help working the math and learning, but older kids will be able to work on their own. We’d like the price down a bit, but all is all it is hard to knock a $3 price tag. If you are looking for a nice, easy, introductory math learning app, iLearn with Poko is a great option!
