The hit party game of clues and collaboration. Rollick is a fast and furious team competition. With Rollick, the entire team works together to act out clues for one (or more) person to guess. For example, one team pulls a card that says “massage”. That team must work together to act out the clue. It’s a hysterical, fun, fast-paced, team competition game that’s an absolute riot at parties, family gatherings, work events, holiday celebrations, with friends, and even teenagers. Rollick. can be taught in 2 minutes, played in 25 minutes, and accommodates 6- 20+ people. With more than 750 clues, words included for younger children, suggestions for large and small groups, and rule variations, no game is ever the same.
Seem to us that the board games that are out there for kids in the Tweens and Teens demographics are complicated, have tons of rules, nuance, secrets and take a huge investment in time to even learn the game let alone play it. Well not this one! Rollick is one of those games that is ready to play pretty much out of the box! And we’re not talking about a couple of kids reading the rules and starting, we’re talking about at a large group of kids at a party can have this game out and have the playing begin in no time! All it takes is a quick explanation, maybe a practice round (maybe) and the game is off, the laughter begins and the fun ensues! Easy!
Many of the board games that we review have lots of little pieces that are easy to lose. Rollick doesn’t. Add to that factor that the game is designed for kids 10 and up (translation – kids that are old enough to take care of their toys and games) and all cards should find their way easily back into the box. No durability concerns here.
This category was debated quite a bit more than we expected – and here’s why: As a board game – Rollick doesn’t look like anything too special. Don’t get us wrong, it has a great, clean, quality look – but it isn’t like the cards are going to pull in a crowd. However – one look at a group of kids (or parents) acting out the clues on the cards and a crowd will definitely appear! The playing of the game (rather than the game itself) is where all of the Visual Appeal is with Rollick. Our team was able to compromise on 4 stars – the game looks fine, the playing of the game is off the charts!
Rollick really is a fun game to play, but like any game, if you get the same clues each time you play it would grow stale. But don’t think for one minute the good folks from The Game Chef didn’t know that! They put in 750 clue-cards and rule variations to keep the game fresh, functional and fun! No two games will ever be the same!
In a blind survey our Review Team priced Rollick right at $20. With an actual retail price of $19.99 our team couldn’t have been happier. Perfectly priced for a game for your family, or a game to give as a gift.
This was another hotly contested segment of our review process. There’s no denying that Rollick does have a bit of a charades feel to it – after all – you are acting out a clue trying to get someone to guess what you are doing. However, by allowing a team to work together on the charade, Rollick transforms into charades on steroids! It seems The Game Chef based Rollick on the party classic, but added enough twists and turns to take it to another level. As far as we are concerned, that is enough to keep it on the positive side of originality!
Rollick is one of those games that everyone loves to play – and we don’t say that lightly! It is perfect to break out for family game night, perfect to break out for adult game night and dinner parties, and truly a hit at parties and gatherings for your kids. Everyone gets to get in on the action and the acting, and everyone ends up laughing! Rollick is certainly easy to use, and definitely going to last a lifetime. No two games will ever play the same, so the functionality is simply limitless. And – the price is perfect! If you are looking for a game to add to the mix, to bring out the fun in a party, and to enjoy with your friends and your family – look no further than Rollick! It is truly a blast to play!
